I've been a little obsessed with Matryoshkas (Russian nesting dolls) for a long time. My mom has a pretty large one (about 12 inches tall) and I remember having so much fun taking them all apart (it had quite a bit nesting in there).

This past summer I participated in the 100 Day Project on Instagram where I attempted to create a new piece every day for 100 days (I say attempted because I think I took 105 days to complete). My theme was cats and during that project I created these cute little kitty matryoshka characters. I recently went back and retooled them a little and created a pattern collection.

Net Picks - Nautical and Pirate Inspired Designs For Boys

When I start designing I usually tend to create designs and illustrations geared towards girls. Not sure if it's because I am/was a girl or if I just love really cutesy, sweet inspired clothes and patterns, but I feel that I've sorely neglected the boys' market. One trend that is currently hot right now is the nautical/pirate trend for boys.

Net Picks - More Holiday Cuties

I'm sure most people enjoy this time of year, or at least the fun aspects. I have to admit that the "magic" of the holiday seasons has diminished some as I've grown older and have had kids. It almost feels like passing on the torch to the little ones and now we adults have to deal with the cleaning, shopping, waiting in line, mountains of bills, wrapping and mess of the holidays.

Shop Update - Redbubble

I haven't been updating my online shops as much as I should but I added a couple new designs to my Redbubble that I'm really excited about! I posted snippets and previews of my work in progress in my blog but I hadn't actually done anything with my designs yet. I did add a few phone cases to my Casetify shop, but I felt that I wanted to offer these lovelies on a wider range of products.
