This week's Net Picks focuses on bright, cheery designs that call to Spring! Although we may not experience the dramatic change from winter to the rebirth of spring I can still appreciate what that change inspires! I love the colors of spring, the pastel to bright hues, lovely shades of green and warmer tones.
Read MoreAlthough I mainly use Adobe Illustrator to create my digital illustrations, I still want a more “natural” look instead of the sleek ,perfectly smooth edges you can achieve with vectors. I use a variety of methods to incorporate more texture into my vector work, both in Illustrator and in Photoshop.

Read MoreI love cute! I think that's why I decided to focus my illustration work towards the children's market. It's wonderful that there is so much variety nowadays for kids and adults alike that feature cute and cuddly characters!

Read MoreMy first foray into freelancing over a decade ago was an experience that left me considering other job options. I was fresh out of college with little in my portfolio and even less confidence. Read MoreBefore signing on with an illustration agency, I hadn’t really heard of or had been asked to produce spec work. “Spec work” or speculative work, is work a client may request from a designer or illustrator to submit so that the client can determine if they want to use that designer for a project. In most cases, this work is not compensated for and landing the project is not guaranteed.

First of all I’d like to say that Bonnie Christine was a great teacher. Not only was her information very valuable and helpful, she was very sweet and easy to listen to. Even though this is an online course, I feel it’s important, as a teacher, to come off as pleasant, genuine and happy to be sharing your knowledge.
